While building a green library may represent the largest public statement any community can make to show its support for sustainability, several measures can be taken to move existing facilities in that direction. Information on the LEED-certified silver library in Fayetteville, Arkansas is presented. Numerous libraries have also moved beyond internal recycling to assuming a more public role in the battle to curb the effects of global warming.
